ЁЯУ░ India’s Goods Shipments to China Grow at a Fast Clip
India’s exports to China have been rising sharply, making China one of the fastest-growing markets for Indian goods even as global trade faces challenges. According to official data, India’s total exports to China jumped **32.8% to $12.22 billion during April–November 2025, compared with the same period a year ago — significantly outpacing the 2.6% growth in India’s overall export numbers.
ЁЯУИ Which products are driving the growth?
A wide range of products contributed to this export surge:
- Marine products, especially shrimp, saw an extraordinary 1,307% increase, with shipments to China reaching around $1.05 billion.
- Electronics goods — including flat panel display modules and populated printed circuit boards — recorded large year-on-year gains.
- Other expanding categories included light naphtha, agricultural products, base metals like aluminium, and telecom apparatus, indicating broad-based demand.
In November 2025 alone, exports to China surged 90% to about $2.2 billion, highlighting the accelerating trend.
⭐ Strategic diversification amid global shifts
The faster growth in shipments to China partly reflects Indian exporters diversifying markets after tariff actions by other countries, like the United States. For example, items such as shrimp, aluminium, and telecom parts — previously facing stricter duties in the U.S. market — have found increasing demand in China.
Overall, this trend shows that China’s role in India’s export landscape is strengthening, with a growing share of total outbound shipments headed to the northern neighbour.
